Who

Extra Mile Nutrition, LLC was founded by Jessica Provost, MS, RD, CSSD.
Jessica is a registered dietitian and board certified sports nutrition specialist licensed in Kansas, able to provide distance services to most US states.
Jessica is currently a doctoral student working toward a PhD focused on sports nutrition. Previous education includes a Masters of Science in Dietetics & Nutrition, a 9-month dietetic internship, and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. She works one-on-one with Division I athletes at the University of Kansas and is involved with research on athlete metabolism, body composition, and associations between dietary intake and performance.

As an endurance athlete for over 20 years, now training for and competing in IRONMAN triathlons, Jessica is deeply familiar with the needs of athletes and the unique nutrition challenges encountered when balancing training with a busy life.

Why an RD?

While anyone can use the title "nutritionist," a registered dietitian (RD) or registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) is a legally defined nutrition expert who has completed important training to earn that credential. The RD/RDN requires an accredited 4-year degree, 1200 hours of supervised practice, a national registration exam, and lifelong continuing education. RDs/RDNs are bound by professional code to use the best-available scientific evidence in practice.
